Symmy connects Odoo with Sage. The typical split: Odoo runs day-to-day operations — sales, inventory, e-commerce — while Sage keeps the books. The integration moves documents between the two, so nothing is retyped. Connecting one module takes 6–12 hours of work depending on the module type; we confirm the exact scope after an initial call.

What we transfer and how often
| Module | Direction | Default interval |
|---|---|---|
| Orders | Odoo → Sage | 15 min |
| Issued invoices | Odoo → Sage | 60 min |
| Customers | Odoo → Sage | 60 min |
| Product cards | both ways | 60 min |
E-shops are the most common counterparty, but the same modules also flow to CRM, WMS or B2B portals. These values are defaults, not fixed rules. The direction and interval can be changed for each module, and modules not listed here can be added — we shorten the interval when your operation needs a faster response, or extend it when less frequent synchronisation is enough.
The table shows the typical setup with Odoo as the operational system and Sage as accounting. If your roles are reversed, the flows are simply configured the other way round.
How the connection works
Odoo exposes a well-documented XML-RPC / JSON-RPC interface covering practically every model in the system. Sage we connect through its API; Sage 50 installations are typically on-premise, which affects how the connection is set up.
Because both systems are ERPs, the key design decision is which one owns which data — we settle that in the initial analysis and configure the flows accordingly.
What to watch out for
-
1
Two ERPs, one owner per record type.
When both systems can create invoices and customers, each record type needs exactly one owner. We agree the split upfront — typically Odoo owns operations, Sage owns the ledger — and the integration enforces it.
-
2
Document numbering across two systems.
Both Odoo and Sage assign their own document numbers. We decide whose numbering is authoritative and carry it in the other system as a reference, so accountants can always trace a document back.
-
3
On-premise Sage needs a connection strategy.
Sage 50 typically runs on-premise, so the integration needs a reliable path to it — an agent, a scheduled window or a VPN. We pick the approach during the analysis, not after go-live.

Frequently asked questions
How much does the integration cost?
We charge 85 € excl. VAT per hour. Connecting one module takes 6–12 hours depending on its type, more for larger systems — we confirm the exact scope after an initial call. The calculator above gives an estimate for your combination of modules.
Which system should own the customer records?
Usually the operational system — Odoo — creates customers and the integration carries them into Sage for invoicing. The initial analysis confirms the split that fits your process.
What happens when one of the systems is unavailable?
The synchronisation retries in the next interval, repeatedly, until the connection is restored. An alert goes out the moment a problem is detected.
Can we start with one flow and add more later?
Yes. Each module is a separate flow in Symmy — a common start is orders and invoices, with customers and products added once the first flow proves itself.
