Symmy connects WooCommerce with Microsoft Business Central. Orders flow from WooCommerce into Microsoft Business Central, while product and stock data as well as documents travel the other way. For this pair we transfer 6 agendas — each one separately, in the direction and interval you choose. A basic connection of one agenda takes 6–12 hours of work depending on its type; we will refine the exact scope after an initial meeting.

E-shops are the most common counterparty, but the same modules also flow to CRM, WMS or B2B portals. These values are defaults, not fixed rules. The direction and interval can be changed for each module, and modules not listed here can be added — we shorten the interval when your operation needs a faster response, or extend it when less frequent synchronisation is enough.
How the connection works
On the WooCommerce side we use: WooCommerce REST API (keys in the administration). We connect Microsoft Business Central via: REST API v2.0 / OData, OAuth2.
What to watch out for
-
1
Extensions change the data model.
Business Central is extended via extensions — custom fields and tables are not in the standard API. Before going live we verify what your extensions expose.
-
2
OAuth2 and the sandbox/production environments.
BC separates sandbox and production. We build the integration against a sandbox with the same configuration first — switching to production is then a controlled step, not a leap into the unknown.
-
3
Plugins change the order structure.
Discount, shipping and payment plugins all touch the order data. We tune the integration against your real e-shop with its plugins enabled, not against a clean WooCommerce install.
-
4
REST API performance depends on the hosting.
WooCommerce runs on your server — large catalogues and traffic peaks can slow the API down. We set intervals and batch sizes according to your hosting's performance.
What lands where in Business Central
The table above says which modules move. This one says what a WooCommerce order becomes inside Business Central — the level most people want to see before they sign anything.
Record mapping
| WooCommerce order | Sales order | One document per order; cart items become sales lines. |
| Cart item | Sales line | Matched to a BC item by SKU or a cross-reference. |
| Shipping and payment | Sales line with a charge | Kept separate so VAT stays auditable. |
| Billing details | Customer or contact | A new buyer creates a record; a returning one is matched on e-mail or customer number. |
| BC item | Shop product | Name, description and category flow from BC; the shop stays the presentation layer. |
| Inventory availability | Product availability | By BC location — one, or the sum of several. |
| Price list | Price and price group | Including customer price groups for B2B. |
| Posted sales invoice | Document on the order | The document number and file are attached to the order in the shop. |
What we need on your side
- Business Central Essentials or Premium with API access — cloud, or on-premise with the interface published.
- A dedicated user for the integration, an application registered in Entra ID, and permissions limited to the modules in the table above.
- A sandbox holding a copy of your production configuration including extensions — that is what we build and test against.
- WooCommerce REST API keys with read and write scope, plus a list of plugins that touch orders, prices or shipping.
- Someone on your side who decides how records are matched (SKU, e-mail, customer number). That decision either carries the go-live or sinks it.
- HTTPS on the shop; for on-premise Business Central, a published endpoint or a VPN.
How the project runs
- 01 Analysis We go through your BC extensions, the shop plugins and the module list. The output is the mapping, written down — what becomes what and how records are matched.
- 02 Build against a sandbox The integration runs against a sandbox holding your configuration. You see the first real orders there before anything touches production.
- 03 Acceptance You run your own cases: a discounted order, a credit note, a B2B customer on a price group. Whatever fails, we tune.
- 04 Go-live and monitoring The switch to production, then round-the-clock monitoring. For the first weeks we watch the intervals and tune them to real traffic.

Frequently asked questions
How much does the integration cost?
We charge 85 € excl. VAT per hour. Connecting one module takes 6–12 hours depending on its type, more for larger systems — we confirm the exact scope after an initial call. The calculator above gives an estimate for your combination of modules.
What happens when Microsoft Business Central is unavailable?
The synchronisation retries the connection in the next interval, and keeps retrying until it reconnects. An alert goes out the moment the problem is detected, so you will know about the outage before it shows up in your orders.
